Hi Bev, Lay the fabric-like side face up. It is supposed to melt like cotton candy when you water the seed roll.

HELP !! My seed mats are a green wirey stuff on one side & I believe I can see seeds embedded in this side. The other side is a fabric type bio degradable material. WHICH side goes down next to the soil??
