Gladys, I have never heard this. I have always planted them together. They make a beautiful display and are easy to plant together because they are planted the same way in the fall.

-- Contributed by: GladysThis is hard to say. Some people think it is an old wives tale and others think it works. It certainly won't hurt to try it though.
Another method for protecting your bulbs is to plant them in a cage of chicken wire. Put dirt inside the cage and plant your bulb. Then put the cage in the ground. This will protect bulbs from attacks om above and below. Some people also sprinkle cayenne pepper over the ground as an added protection.
