Hi there...Can you tell me what you would estimate a residential irrigation system to put out (gals) for each zone? Is there a rule of thumb on the amount of water it would take to irrigate...say 5000sq ft?

I am trying to estimate water use for my new house and considering putting tanks underground to catch roof rain water...but am concerned I will need much more than the tanks will hold. Can you help? Thanks.
