Judy, You don't need to cut back the blooms or cut them off. If you do, it would only be for aesthetic reasons.

-- Contributed by: judy ParrottThe best time to divide your yucca is spring or fall so this is a good time to be thinking about this. First you need to dig up your plant and clean off the dirt so you are able to see the rhizome. Then just cut it into smaller pieces being careful not to cut them too small.
Now plant each piece where you want it to grow.
