Feather Grass

From LoveToKnow Garden

Feather Grass (Stipa) - A large group of grasses, the prettiest of which, S. pennata, is hardly to be distinguished from a strong stiff tuft of common grass, except in May and June, when the tuft is surmounted by numerous gracefully arching flower-stems, nearly 2 feet high, and covered with long, twisted, feathery spikes. Division or seed. S. calamagrostis, S. capillata, and S. elegantissima are other good Feather Grasses.
