Clerodendron
From LoveToKnow Garden
Clerodendron - Tropical or sub-tropical trees or shrubs, only two species of which have any claim to hardiness, C. trichotomum, a Japanese plant, and C. foetidum, a native of China, an old garden plant usually seen in greenhouses, but hardy enough for open-air culture in all southern and warm parts. In southern gardens, especially near the sea, it grows 5 feet high, and is handsome for the several weeks it is in bloom. The other species is less common, and is a free-growing shrub, 6 feet high or more, bearing large loose clusters of flowers, the corollas white, the calyces a deep brownish-red, blooming in September.
